One of Beanstalk Computing’s clients was a plumbing company which resisted the idea of paying for backups, even after months of us bringing it up during security and disaster planning audits. After months of persuading, we finally convinced them to work with us to setup a robust backup solution.
And, I kid you not, not two weeks after we implemented their backup solution, one of their employees clicked a bad link. You know, one of those emails that warn you to reset your PayPal password, which not only ended up encrypting all the data on that employee’s computer but also all the data on the company server as well!
All their financial information in QuickBooks, customer contact information and contracts, were gone.
What can only be described as ‘sheer panic’ ensued in the office as they realized what happened.
Of course, we were able to get their data back within hours. Because of our services not only did this customer survive, but they continue to thrive.
